Abandoned

"Abandoned" was inspired by seeing so many farms which had apparently abandoned or broken down buildings.  When I see that, I always wonder what the story is, who lived there, what they did, what happened that the buildings became run down and broken looking.  I love painting with the violets and yellow, complementary colors, and to suggest the mystery of the place, leaving open spaces with soft colors hopefully conveys the sense of absence, time passed, and the resultant quietness.
